Australia have won 7 of the 10 tournaments, which is the first thing the Women’s T20 World Cup records tell you. Their latest title came at Lord’s in the 2026 final, a 7-wicket win over England.
This page covers 189 matches with ball-by-ball data, from Jun 2009 to Jul 2026. It lists every final, the leading run scorers and wicket takers, team records and the highest and lowest totals. No Afghanistan results or players appear, since their games are left out of the open data.
Women's T20 World Cup Winners by Year
The titles table counts every edition, including the first two. England won in 2009 and Australia in 2010, but the data holds only 2 and 3 matches from those events, so their finals are taken from the official record rather than ball-by-ball files. From 2012 onward, every final is in the data.
Australia’s run is the story of the tournament. They beat England by 4 runs in Colombo in 2012 and by 6 wickets in Mirpur in 2014. West Indies broke the sequence in 2016, chasing down Australia’s total at Eden Gardens to win by 8 wickets. Australia then won three in a row: against England in 2018, India by 85 runs at Melbourne in 2020 and South Africa by 19 runs at Newlands in 2023. New Zealand took the 2024 title in Dubai, beating South Africa by 32 runs, before Australia beat England again at Lord’s in 2026.
Australia have also won the most matches, 40 of 48, a win rate of 83.3. England are next at 75.6, with 31 wins from 41.

Before that, England’s 213/5 against Pakistan at Cape Town in Feb 2023 was the best, and it set up the biggest win by runs, 114.
The biggest-wins table also lists four 10-wicket wins, two of them at Cape Town and Gqeberha in Feb 2023. For the men’s tournament, see T20 World Cup records, and for the 50-over event, the Women’s World Cup records. Format-wide numbers are on the women’s T20I records page.
