Six editions and 90 games, from Sep 2004 to Mar 2025, make up the Champions Trophy records on this page. India sit at the top on most measures: 3 titles in all, 16 wins in 23 matches, and the leading run scorer in Virat Kohli.
The winners tables add the three earlier tournaments, 1998 to 2002, using the official results. Everything else on the page, from the batting lists to the team totals, counts only the 90 matches in the data. Afghanistan do not appear anywhere, because their games are absent from the open data set.
Champions Trophy Winners and Titles
India hold the most titles with 3. One was shared with Sri Lanka in 2002, when the final was washed out. The other two came in finals covered here: a 5-run win over England at Edgbaston in 2013 and a 4-wicket win over New Zealand in Dubai in 2025.
Australia are the only other team with 2, from back-to-back wins in 2006 and 2009. West Indies lifted the 2004 trophy after a 2-wicket win over England at The Oval. Pakistan’s single title came in 2017 with the most one-sided final of all, a 180-run win over India at The Oval.
South Africa won the first edition in 1998 and New Zealand the second in 2000. Without ball-by-ball records for those three, they feed only the titles count. The 2025 edition has 10 matches in the data, fewer than the others, partly because Afghanistan’s games are not included.
Champions Trophy Winners by Year and Top Performers
The final is the last match of each edition. Editions marked partial have only a few matches in the open data, so no final is shown.
