Readers quote our numbers in arguments, articles and quizzes, so accuracy comes first. Here is how Cricket Record Book checks its pages.
Numbers come from data, not memory
Every table is calculated from the ball-by-ball record by our own scripts. Written summaries on each page may only use numbers that appear in that page’s tables, so the text and the tables always agree.
Cross-checks
- Career totals of well-known players are compared with official figures for the same period.
- Results, margins and innings wins are checked against the official result of each match.
- Every page shows a coverage line with the number of matches and dates included, so you know exactly what a total means.
What we avoid
- Rankings, predictions and opinions presented as fact.
- Numbers from matches outside the data, unless they are clearly marked as official tournament records.

Independence
Advertisers and sponsors have no say over our records. Paid placements are always labelled, as described on our advertising page.
