These Asia Cup records draw on 96 men’s matches spread over 10 editions, from Jul 2004 to the Dubai final of 28 Sep 2025. India won that final against Pakistan by 5 wickets, their fifth title among the finals the ball-by-ball data covers.
The page also names the champions of the seven tournaments held from 1984 to 2000, as listed in the official records. Keep two gaps in mind. Afghanistan’s games are absent from the open data, so none of their results or players appear. And the 2004, 2010, 2012 and 2014 editions are only partly covered, though each of their finals is in the data.
Asia Cup Winners List and Titles
India and Sri Lanka have shared almost every title in the record book. The early winners table shows India champions in 1984, 1988, 1991 and 1995, Sri Lanka in 1986 and 1997, and Pakistan in 2000. Of the ten finals with ball-by-ball records, India won five (2010, 2016, 2018, 2023 and 2025), Sri Lanka four (2004, 2008, 2014 and 2022) and Pakistan one (2012).
Put together, the titles table reads India 9, Sri Lanka 6, Pakistan 2. The four partly covered editions are credited too, because their finals are in the data, and Pakistan’s 2012 win at Mirpur came by just 2 runs against Bangladesh.
Some finals were one-sided. Sri Lanka beat India by 100 runs in Karachi in 2008. In 2023 India needed no wickets to fall at all, winning by 10 wickets at Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium after Mohammed Siraj (India) took 6/21 and Sri Lanka collapsed for 50. The 2018 final in Dubai was much closer, India getting home by 3 wickets against Bangladesh.
The format has changed too. The 2016, 2022 and 2025 editions were T20Is, the rest ODIs, so totals and strike rates mix both formats.
Asia Cup Winners List and Top Performers by Edition
The final is the last match of each edition. Editions marked partial have only a few matches in the open data, so no final is shown.
