Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat Head to Head Record

Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat results across the seasons

The early seasons were shared, but Perth pulled clear later. Brisbane Heat won both games in 2018-19, then the Scorchers won the next two in 2019-20, two of three in 2020-21, and every meeting from 4 Feb 2021 to 4 Feb 2023, a run of six wins. The last of those, a 5-wicket win at Perth Stadium, was the 2022-23 final.

Since then Brisbane have won two of the four games, including the big chase at the Gabba. Home ground has mattered a great deal. Perth have won 6 of 7 at Perth Stadium, while the Heat lead 5-3 at The Gabba. The WACA Ground games split 3-2 to Perth.

Batting first and chasing are almost level, with 13 wins to 12, and the average first innings is 166. That makes the 2025 game, with two totals above 250, a true outlier.

Lynn, Marsh and the leading batters

Chris Lynn (CA Lynn) of Brisbane Heat leads the run scorers with 618 in 17 innings at 44.14, including 6 fifties. An unbeaten 98 from 49 deliveries, including 11 sixes, set up a 9-wicket win at the WACA on 5 Jan 2017. Lynn is one of four players with 2 match awards in the fixture.

Mitchell Marsh (MR Marsh) has the best numbers on the Perth side: 470 runs in 11 innings; he averages 67.14 here and scores at 164.34. On 11 Jan 2020 his 93* from 41 balls drove Perth to 213/3, their best total in the fixture until 2025. Cameron Bancroft (CT Bancroft) has 342 at 48.86.

Tye, Behrendorff and Perth's bowling edge

Perth’s bowlers explain much of the lead. Andrew Tye (AJ Tye) has 29 wickets at 16.31, with a best of 4/14, and Jason Behrendorff (JP Behrendorff) has 28 at 16.29 with an economy of 6.93. M Kelly took 16 in only 7 games. No Heat bowler has more than 10.

The five lowest totals in the fixture were all made by Brisbane Heat, starting with 109 all out at Carrara Oval on 1 Jan 2020. Perth’s biggest win is by 59 runs at Docklands on 19 Jan 2021. Brisbane’s best day with the ball came on 5 Jan 2018, when B Doggett took 5/35 and the Heat won by 49 runs. More on both clubs: Perth Scorchers BBL records and Brisbane Heat BBL records.
