Arun Jaitley Stadium Pitch Report and Delhi Records

Covers 44 international matches at this ground from Apr 2005 to Mar 2026.

This Arun Jaitley Stadium pitch report leans on the scorebook from 44 Delhi internationals, played between Apr 2005 and Mar 2026 at the ground long known as the Feroz Shah Kotla. The short version: white-ball totals hold up well, Tests get much harder to bat in as they go on, and T20I chasers have the edge.

The mix is 17 men’s ODIs, 12 men’s T20Is, 8 Tests, 6 women’s T20Is and one women’s ODI. India’s men account for 24 of those games and have won 16.

Delhi Pitch: Batting or Bowling, by the Numbers

Men’s ODI sides setting a target average 254; the chasing side manages just 197. Defending leads 9 wins to 7, with 167 the lowest score protected and 282 the biggest pursuit.

T20Is tilt the other way. Sides setting a target average 168 and replies 150, yet chasers have won 8 of 12, and the women’s T20Is of Mar 2016 went 5 to 1 to the chasing side.

Tests show a steep slide: 383 for the opening innings, 292 for the reply, then 227 and 169 last of all. The biggest successful last-innings target is 276, and two of the 8 Tests were drawn. Toss winners have taken 19 of 41 results.
