Most Runs in IPL 2018, Most Wickets and Season Records

Covers all 60 IPL 2018 matches in the ball-by-ball data, from 7 Apr 2018 to 27 May 2018. Teams are shown under their current names.

Kane Williamson made the most runs in IPL 2018 without ever reaching three figures: 735 for Sunrisers Hyderabad, averaging 52.50 over 17 knocks. His team still finished second, because Chennai Super Kings chased them down with 8 wickets to spare in the Mumbai final on 27 May 2018.

Sixty games make up the season, which opened on 7 Apr 2018 and finished on 27 May 2018; every one is included. Two sides used older names that year: Kings XI Punjab show here as Punjab Kings, and the Delhi Daredevils as Delhi Capitals.

IPL 2018 champions and the final

No team won more often than Chennai, who came out of 16 games with 11 victories. Sunrisers Hyderabad won 10 of their 17, and Kolkata Knight Riders won 9 of 16. The table counts every match including the playoffs, so it is not the official points table.

The final was one-sided. Shane Watson (CSK) made 117* off 57 balls against Sunrisers, the second highest score of the season, and Chennai won with 8 wickets in hand. It was Watson’s second hundred of the season following his 106 versus Rajasthan Royals back on 20 Apr 2018. CSK beat Sunrisers more than once that year: Ambati Rayudu’s 100* on 13 May 2018 also came against them.

Delhi Capitals won just 5 of 14, the fewest in the table, despite having the season’s highest individual score. The full IPL winners list shows where this title sits in Chennai’s record, and the CSK IPL records page has their career leaders.

Orange Cap race: most runs and sixes in IPL 2018

At Indore on 12 May 2018, Kolkata Knight Riders piled up 245/6 versus Punjab Kings, the season’s biggest total. Punjab replied with 214/8 in the same match. The smallest total belonged to Mumbai Indians, skittled for 87 by Sunrisers at home on 24 Apr 2018. Every season’s wicket leader is on the Purple Cap list.
