Highest Score in T20 International Cricket

Covers 3,558 men's T20Is and 2,171 women's T20Is from Feb 2005 to Sep 2026 with ball-by-ball records. Afghanistan matches are not in the open data set.

The highest score in T20 internationals across this site’s data is 172, made by Aaron Finch of Australia off 76 balls against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club on 3 Jul 2018. It still stands at the top across 3,558 men’s T20Is played between Feb 2005 and Sep 2026.

India’s best is Abhishek Sharma’s 135, scored against England in Mumbai on 2 Feb 2025. Games involving Afghanistan are missing from the open data, so this list has none of them.

Highest T20 Score in International Cricket: Finch and the Chasers

Finch’s 172 included 16 fours and 10 sixes. He also has the fifth highest score in the list, 156 from 63 balls versus England on 29 Aug 2013, so he holds two of the top five.

The next three spots all belong to Associate batters, and all three came in a short burst between Dec 2025 and Jun 2026:

  • Karanbir Singh of Austria made 164 off 57 balls against Hungary on 28 Jun 2026.
  • Hamza Khan of Rwanda made 164* off 65 balls against Ivory Coast on 24 May 2026.
  • Mohammad Ihsan of Spain made 160 with 17 sixes against Croatia on 7 Dec 2025.

Since the 2018 innings, nobody has passed 172, though Karanbir got close. The table counts every T20I team, so these scores against fellow Associate sides sit next to Finch’s.
