National Stadium Karachi Pitch Report, Records and Stats
Covers 74 international matches at this ground from Sep 2003 to May 2026.
Big scores run through this National Stadium Karachi pitch report, which covers 74 men’s and women’s internationals in Karachi, Pakistan, from Sep 2003 to May 2026, topped by the 765/6 Pakistan piled up against Sri Lanka in Feb 2009.
Karachi’s men’s record spans 9 Tests, 31 ODIs and 11 T20Is. Women’s cricket adds 12 ODIs and 11 T20Is, and the PSL has played 97 games here.
Karachi Pitch Report: Scoring, Chasing and the Toss
Batting has rarely been hard here. Test sides have averaged 389 batting first and 385 in reply, and even the third innings reaches 301. The fourth innings is where it bites: the average drops to 226, and 170 is the largest target anyone has reached. Four of the 9 Tests were drawn.
Men’s ODIs could hardly be closer: 16 defended totals, 15 successful chases. Openers average 287 and chasers 232, yet 355 has been overhauled. In men’s T20Is, defending has worked 7 times and chasing 4, with the side batting first making 190 on average and the reply 148.
The toss is the oddity. Most captains who called right batted, 48 against 26 who fielded, but the side calling correctly has won just 29 times in 70 results.
